Kendall Healthcare's Monoject Ultra Comfort 31 Gauge 0.5cc Insulin Syringe has a short (8mm, or 5/16") needle that should be used to administer U-100 insulin in doses of 50 units or less. This syringe is non-pyrogenic (does not produce heat), non-toxic and latex-free. The shorter, thinner needle provides comfort and is permanently attached to reduce insulin waste to a minimum. The needle is made from stainless steel that is electro-polished and of the highest surgical grade, using needle point geometry that is state-of-the-art and which provides the maximum in comfort. The comfort level of the injection is enhanced by the superior grade lubricant coating, with epoxy bonding providing additional comfort and strength. The accuracy of the injection is increased thanks to the flat plunger-tip, which aligns clearly and precisely with markings of the scale for fast, accurate readings. Note: if you're considering switching to a shorter needle, you should first check with your physician.
