A new study has indicated that a viral infection might be responsible for the development of diabetes in-utero. Over the past decades, the rates of type 1 childhood diabetes have increased all over the world. If the patient with type 1 diabetes does not control their blood sugar carefully, the diabetes can affect nearly every organ. The long term effects of type 1 diabetes can cause serious disability and even death. The exact cause of juvenile diabetes still remains a mystery. However, this new study done by researchers at Tel Aviv University has demonstrated that the cause could be something that happens before the child is even born.
