Pre-Pregnancy Habits Can Affect Gestational Diabetes Risk
A new study has indicated that pregnant women can prevent developing gestational diabetes by making their pre-pregnancy lifestyles healthier before getting pregnant. In the study researchers looked at data from more than 14,000 women in the United States. The research show that the risk factor for gestational diabetes during pregnancy was being obese or overweight while pregnant. Women that were already obese before pregnant had a risk of more than four time normal weight women for developing diabetes.
