Apple cider vinegar has been used as a natural health remedy and a cleansing agent for centuries. It was believed to have antibacterial and curative properties. Fermentation of apple cider turns it from an alcohol to vinegar, as bacteria and yeast change its properties. However, modern-day pasteurization of apple cider vinegar kills off the valuable enzymes and nutrients, removing its health benefits. Therefore it is recommended to only use organic and unfiltered vinegar.
