Diabetes and Your Liver

Interestingly, not only can liver disease occur because of diabetes, it can also be the cause of diabetes. This is because the liver is the storage facility for the body’s glucose, and it helps to keep blood sugar levels constant and steady. Not only does the liver store the glucose, it also manufactures glucose depending on what the body needs. The liver is instructed to release or store glucose by two hormones, insulin and glucagon.
